Course Description
The course is designed to raise the awareness and enhance the knowledge of Primary health Care Professionals and General practitioners in COPD prevention based on COPD determinants assessment and analysis, early identification of individuals at risk for COPD and through the implementation of Integrated Intervention Strategy — the STepwise Target groups Oriented Prevention: STOP model.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe the key aspects of COPD concept, terminology, the scope of the problem and burden of disease according GOLD and.
- Understand the importance of early detection of the risk and prevention of the Disease.
- Describe the role of the main Determinants of COPD, the theoretical background of COPD prevention and Stepwise target group oriented prevention (STOP) approach.
- Understand the role of smoking a the major determinant of COPD, the importance of Smoking prevention/education and smoking cessation interventions for COPD prevention in all target groups.
- Will be aware of modern methods of smoking cessation.
- Recognize the importance of COPD prevention planning process, the ways of COPD risk identification and early detection, and STOP interventions implementation for COPD prevention.

Course Format
The course is made up of 4 modules, each of which has a short quiz to be completed.
In addition to the module there are two short case studies and round-table discussions in the forum section.
